Léa Bouchoucha is a multimedia journalist with a special interest in women's rights and refugees. She worked as an international consultant with Unicef
Ghana and as the Paris based correspondent for Consortium News. She also collaborated with the University of Paris (formerly Paris Diderot University) and NEOMA Business school as a video journalist. Her works have appeared in Consortium News, Vogue U.S, the Huffington Post, NPR, CNN International, Women’s eNews, Euronews, Elle, LeFigaro among others. Léa received her M.A. in political science from Sorbonne University and Journalism from New York University. She has reported from Turkey on Syrian refugees and
LGBT rights for Women’s eNews and from Israel, where she was working as a news editor and reporter at the international news channel I24 News. In 2014, she reported on the one-year anniversary of the Boston Marathon Bombings from Boston as part of a special project sponsored by New York University’s Reporting the Nation graduate program.
She has previous experience reporting on Middle Eastern affairs and communities. For the past seven years, she has been committed to foreign affairs working in various international newsrooms. In 2014, she undertook a summer program “Practice working as a multimedia foreign correspondent in Istanbul, Turkey” sponsored by ieiMedia, University of Jamestown
and Bahcesehir University. This experience allowed her to write several multimedia pieces from Istanbul related to the refugee crisis and women’s rights. She has traveled to Israel many times and in 2015, she lived and worked as a journalist at the international news channel I24 News based in Namal Yaffo (Old Jaffa Port). In 2020, she reported from the southern Tel Aviv and Jerusalem about the migrant crisis and around the Ayalon Valley about the
cooperative peace village of Neve Shalom.
